After Palma de Mallorca, Calvia is probably the wealthiest municipality (county) in Majorca. The area accounts for a large proportion of Majorca's tourist industry with the hugely popular resorts of Magaluf, Palma Nova, Santa Ponsa and Portals Nous to name a few.

Palma Nova is situated approximately 14KM from Palma de Majorca and sits adjacent to the hugely popular Magaluf. The two resorts are almost indistinguishable from one another, although Palma Nova is known to have a younger family orientated atmosphere through the day in peak season. However, don't expect a peacefully quite holiday here. Palma Nova is famous for round the clock party antics invariably fuelled by cheap alcohol from the many bars and clubs in the resort.

Cala Vinyes is one of Majorca's smaller resorts catering more towards families and the older generation.

Costa Nord is an initiative of the actor Michael Douglas encouraging diversity and artistic creation. Every summer they organise a series of concerts free of charge in this old residence of Valledmossa. The concerts are in the open, under the stars. Before the concerts a meal is served, a delicious menu for 25€ per person.

Located 9KM from Palma de Mallorca and around 16KM from the airport, Puerto Portals is a luxury port hosting some of the most beautiful yachts to be found in the Mediterranean. Inaugurated in 1986, Puerto Portals has a total of 670 moorings ranging from 8 to 80 meters in length.
